Tier I Girls Junior Hockey (U19 USA hockey Tier I Independent)
Tier I Girls Junior Hockey is a different entity than the Tier I Girls Summer Showcase Team. Official tryouts for the full season are held during this summer showcase event.
- Tier I is NOT a National bound program - the ONLY Focus is on the NCAA and having all of their student-athletes recruited in the NCAA (or ACHA if they choose for academic reasons). Tier I hockey had a record of 25-6 in the 2022-2023 season.
- Tier I competes against Tier I National bound teams, Tier II National bound teams, Tier I & II Independent Teams as well as Prep School teams. The goal of Tier I hockey is to play the best competition and to have all of their student-athletes recruited in the NCAA (or ACHA if they choose for academic reasons)
- Tier I hockey also combines with the NS Vipers program after the completion of the National tournament each year to play a shortened NEGHL regular season. This is done to diversify schedules and competition. The NS Vipers NEGHL regular season record was 9-0 (undefeated) as the NS Vipers Junior Team (a non National bound team).
- Tier I hockey is NOT a National bound program as it’s focus is solely on the NCAA. However, you will see a #9 National ranking in Tier II for the 2022-2023 season. Tier I hockey is a registered Tier I team so we have no control regarding the listing or the ranking as our focus remains NCAA bound and not National bound.
- Tier I hockey chooses to put NCAA bound over National bound because all of the NCAA recruiting for rising seniors and Post Graduates will happen in the Fall or early Winter for our student-athletes. The NCAA is the most important process.
- Tier I hockey carries no more than 15 student-athletes borders including two goaltenders. Tier I hockey maximizes the Boston, Massachusetts location, the experience and success of the program, the talent and relationship driven organization and management with the competition against top level great programs in Prep, Tier I and Tier II to maximize player development and success in the NCAA academic and athletic recruiting process.
